Legoland
in Berkshire
At Legoland Windsor the entertainment is certainly
hands-on. Children aged 2-12 can take to the road, soar through the skies and
sail the seas in complete safety. With over 50 interactive rides, live shows,
building workshops, driving schools and attractions, all set in 150 acres of
beautiful parkland, Legoland Windsor is a unique family theme park.
Where else but at a Legoland park can the child
become the hero? It’s all about active participation, self-expression,
stimulating imagination and learning through play. So whether they’re a brave
knight taming dragons in Knights’ Kingdom, a courageous firefighter at the Fire
Academy or a skilled construction worker at the Digger Challenge, it’s the child
that’s always at the centre of the action and firmly in control!
LANDSCAPING AT Legoland. Looking after 150-acres of
parkland is a big task for Legoland Windsor’s dedicated team of 12 landscapers.
As well as implementing a range of new planting schemes around the park, the
Landscape Team is also charged with maintaining the park’s historic oak trees –
some of which are over 300 years old. The unique Miniland area is an on-going
challenge for the team as they have to employ special techniques to work around
the intricate LEGO models that inhabit the area. Guests are frequently impressed
with the attractiveness of the landscape within the park and the time and effort
that is spent on this area is another point which sets Legoland apart from other
theme parks.

huge 80% full size Boeing 747 cockpit, situated in the LEGO Creation Centre.
This enormous model took 4,212 hours to build. It’s made from around 2.2 million
bricks. The smallest models are the LEGO pigeons in Trafalgar Square – each made
from just 5 LEGO bricks.
AVERAGE TIME SPENT PER VISIT: 5 - 6 hours.
ACTIVITY AREAS: The Beginning, Imagination Centre, Miniland,
DUPLO Land, Traffic, Land of the Vikings, LEGO City, Adventure Land, Wild Woods

guests with disabilities firmly in mind – the park is 95% accessible to
wheelchair users and has won Best Disabled Facility Venue in the Group Leisure
Awards. Wheelchair hire is available and a Guide for Guests with Disabilities
can be collected from Guest Services. There is a large car park for guests with
disabilities allowing easy access to the park and each toilet block has two
toilets available for wheelchair-users.
Exit passes are available to guests who do not understand the
concept of queuing and who would become distressed in queue lines. Before an
exit pass is issued guests are required to produce identification or letter of
authority stating their disability.
The pricing policy for guests with disabilities is as follows:
the guest with a disability is required to pay the standard admission price for
their visit whereas the guest’s personal assistant is permitted entry free of
charge.
